    3. Hi Claire, I have checked the death indexes from 1956 to end of 1960 and can find no Alice MORLEY anywhere with an age close to 41, nor any close to Portsmouth in those years. Is it possible that Alice was a middle name? Sorry nothing more positive. Derek ------------------------------------------- Date: Mon, 3 Nov 2008 07:16:52 +1100 From: "Claire Bennett-Claypole" <claypole@netspeed.com.au> Subject: [ENG-HANTS] Death Reference: Alice Morley I am trying to order my grandmother's death certificate. I am good at ordering the certificates (!) but not the right ones as her name, abode and age keeps changing. It now appears that she may have been living in Portsmouth at the time of her death. The details are: Name: Alice Morley nee French Year: 1958 (approx), age approx 41 years Place: Portsmouth (or maybe nearby) If SKS could look up the indexes I would be very grateful and maybe it will be 3rd time lucky! 3. Hello Pat, My SMITH ancestors were all Hampshire born from 1737 to 1937. I don't have a David amongst them or amongst their siblings, so it seems unlikely that our families are directly linked. My SMITH line is John born 1737 at Tufton Isaac born 1767 probably at Tufton William born 1816 at Wooton St Lawrence Isaac born 1845 at Worting Charles William born 1880 at Bournemouth (my grandfather) Thank you for the contact and good luck with your research. (The SMITH name is incredibly 'popular' in England, making it a real challenge).
