Hello fellow researchers, I posted the following to the Christchurch list but have not met with any success, so am casting further afield. I am trying to unravel details of a HARVEY family, christened at Christchurch. Does anyone recognise this family and/or is able to shed some light on the apparent anomaly of 1809 Benjamin's parentage? The following details are from Ancestry Christening records, which in turn are derived from the files of The Genealogical Society of Utah at Salt Lake City. Mary HARVEY Born 28 Dec 1803, Christened 4 Sep 1803, Christchurch. It looks probable that these two dates/events have become reversed. Father Benjamin HARVEY George HARVEY Christened 21 Oct 1804, Christchurch. Father Benjamin HARVEY. Mother Mary. William HARVEY Christened 30 Jan 1807, Christchurch. Father Benjamin HARVEY. Mother Mary. Benjamin HARVEY Christened 3 Dec 1809 Christchurch. Father Joseph MINTERN. Mother Mary. Susanna HARVEY Christened 5 Jan 1812 Christchurch. Father Benjamin HARVEY. Mother Mary. The BVR Index, vol2 has the above details and adds another confusing fact, which may, or may not, be related. James HARVEY Christened 16 Apr 1809 Christchurch. Father Ben HARVEY. Mother Mary. If James is part of the above family, it adds weight to the probability that Benjamin (1809) is not of this family. I believe that Benjamin (1809) is my father's maternal g-grandfather and so am eager to learn more about his family line. My Benjamin married Ann (1819 -1899) ? around 1845/50.
