Thank you to everyone who has replied. I was looking for my grandmother, Doris Emily KNIGHT born in Vernham Dean in 1901, her parents Frederick [1874] and Martha Mary [1874], and brothers Herbert Thomas [1899] and Frederick Harold [1907]. Further children born 1908 and 1912 also born in Vernham Dean. Trying to think of a transcription for the beautiful letter "K", and whatever might follow it! All suggestions welcome. As I said before, I've tried all currently available counties and various forenames. I guess I'll have to wait until greater search facilities are in operation, or failing that, the census is available to search page by page as on Ancestry. I'm not grumbling as it's wonderful to have the census available early, and I've had success with the other side of my family. Thanks again. Carol
Hi Carol - I think you might find her under KNIGTH. I searched for Doris with a comma in the surname box, born Vernham 1901 +/- 1 year. If this is your lass, they are in Andover. Best of luck, Patsy - New Zealand.
