Hi Tony, Many thanks for your prompt reply to my message. I would be very grateful if you would look up James VENTHAM'S birth around 1821 in the Petersfield parish registers, next time you visit the library . I have been trying for a long time to find out if my James of Binsted is in fact the James on the 1881 census saying he came from Petersfield. I have my James solely on the 1841 census with his parents at Brockhampton, Havant, but I have found nothing on him after that date. However, I have details on James (Petersfield) from the 1851 census right the way to his death in 1909, BUT, I haven't found him on the 1841 census!!
