I have not been able to find out anything more about Jane and wonder if you may have come across this Paine/Payne. Hello Marion. I have never quite connected the FUTCHERs in my area to those in yours. It seems they ought to be connected but possibly way back in the mists of time!! My FUTCHER line extends back into the 1700s in Andover and seems to stay around that area. My direct line is Henry FUTCHER who came to NZ with his wife Sarah ANDREWS in the 1870s. His parents were George FUTCHER and Jane WAKE. If you think there is any connection to that couple just let me know. I recently got a copy of my gr-grandfathers' entry in the 1911 census which gives his address as South Western Terrace, Queens Road, South Farnborough. I've been able to find Queens Road on modern maps, but no reference to South Western Terrace either on modern or old-maps.co.uk. Does anyone have any idea where this would have been please?
