HI Listers. I was wondering if sks could do a lookup for me. Joseph FORD married a Jane Sarah some time before my Great Grandmother's birth in 1863 but I can't make out the surname on the birth certificate. They were possibly married c1858 in Southampton. I know it's a lot to ask based on such sketchy information but I was wondering if somebody could try to find this marriage for me so that I can find Jane Sarah's maiden name. Thanks in advance Andrew THORN Researching: THORN OSMAN MUNDAY FORD MARSH GRANT

I would like to find out if on a marriage certificate it would ALWAYS say deceased if the father of either bride or groom were dead. I do have one that says that but I am wondering about another where I think a father might not be around any more. I would appreciate any input from SKS. Dorothy, Calgary, Canada
Sorry everyone. I meant to post my letter to Dave off list. Didn't mean to bore you all. Dorothy, Calgary, Canada
Hi Dave, I wish I could help with the 1851 but I don't have it. All my information I get from Ancestry.com etc. I did do some looking for you on 1837 on line but after 8 tries found nothing so gave up. I had not realized that civil registration was not mandatory until 1875! That probably explains why I cannot find some of my people. I live just outside of Calgary in sunny Alberta, not always warm, but sunny. Even when it is cold we have such blue skies. I see you live in Quebec? What part? We are traveling through Quebec next month with some friends from Australia and plan to do some sight seeing. We end up in Nova Scotia where they fly home from and then my husband and I have 2 weeks to drive home in the RV. We have done the trip before and want to show our friends the glorious fall colours that you have down there. Where you born in Canada or England? I was born in Birkenhead, moved to Australia with my family as a teenager and came to Canada with my husband (also English) and two children in 1976. We have never been back to England but now that I am doing this genealogy I have caught up with cousins I played with and met new ones so now I would like to go. Hopefully next year, we will see! Have a great weekend, Dorothy
Hi Dave, You do have census for the rest of the family do you? I just found J F Gardiner at his sister's in 1871 if you don't have it. Dorothy, Canada
Pat wrote............. ..............".When my Gr Grandparents married in 1872, he put his father deceased [he died 2 yrs later] and she put her father deceased [he died in 1921, a year before her]." How very strange that they both wrote that. Maybe it was wishful thinking!!!! Thanks, Dorothy
Many thanks to all those who gave input on what we may find on a marriage certificate. Regards, Dorothy, Calgary, Canada
Thanks Jim and Paul, just one more challenge. Regards, Dorothy
Hi Brenda, I think I have him and I am sending a page off site. Dorothy, Calgary, Canada
One from the 1861 census coming your way Brenda (off list). Let me know if you have any problems receiving them. Dorothy
Hi Sandra, I thought that was probably the case but wanted it confirmed. Thanks for answering it for me. Dorothy
My main interest at this point in time is BELLINGER. They originated in Withington, Gloucester but in the late 1800 or early 1900 they moved to Southampton. My grandfather tried his own business as a greengrocer I believe but was unable to make a success of it. He subsequently emigrated to Canada. My question I suppose is...... Is there any way I can find out about the shop and can I find out where the grandparents were buried. I believe it was in Fleet but am not sure. Margaret Maria died in Nov. 1943 and Bernard Cleverley in 1945. This is just an off chance query since we are quiet. Regards Ellie -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Do any of your Bellinger's come from Porstmouth. I have Bellinger connections in my Newell family . Ellen Bellinger daughter of Joseph b 1870. She was one of six children born between 1870 and 1880 any connections Bob Newell----- Original Message ----- From: "Elaine" <macmac3@optusnet.com.au> To: <ENG-HAMPSHIRE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, August 15, 2005 1:08 AM Subject: [ENG-HANTS] burials > My main interest at this point in time is BELLINGER.
