Is there any possibility that a death can be traced after 1938 around the Winchester area? Catherine

Hello, Could some kind person look at the 1901 census for JOHN CHARLES W. COOK. he was born HAMPSHIRE 1897. Thank you for your time. Regards, Judy
Hi all, Was wondering if anyone had these registers available as I am hitting some brickwalls and have found two people in Kingsclere and I am hoping that they are my relatives. #1 William Harfield age 60 and wife Mary age 60 are on the 1841 census for Kingsclere H0107 392 25 22. His occupation is Excise Officer and both were born in Hampshire. I have been unable to find anything on him since then, not even a death. I was wondering if they had married in Kingsclere or were buried there. #2 James Harfield married Hannah Seward on 10 July 1797 at Kingsclere if there is someone that could check the register for that date to see either his age or his father or both it would be appreciated. If there are any other Harfields that are found I would appreciate that information too as my family comes from the Hannington/Church Oakley area which I understand is close by. Many thanks in advance Dawn in Canada tad _________________________________________________________________ Discover the new Windows Vista http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?q=windows+vista&mkt=en-US&form=QBRE
Many thanks Sandra, I've found out a bit more (from the 1841 census) & I think Frances was married to James Hancock Darley. I can't find anything on their marriage as yet, but I've found some children & the naming pattern fits with the rest of my Darley family, so I think I'm on the right track. Hi Listers, I have a possible connection to one of my Darley clan - found on the 1851 census. Frances DARLEY, Widow, born about 1799 in Bucklers Hard. I think she may have been married to the brother (name as yet unknown) of one of my Darleys. If Frances ?? Was born/living in Bucklers Hard, where is she likely to have been married? The timescale would be around 1820'ish. The other Darleys of the family were living in Cadnam & Southampton (St Mary Extra) at the time of the 1851 census. Any suggestions would be most helpful. Thanks Lesley Baxendale Colwyn Bay, N Wales

Hello Everybody, If there is anybody with the 1891 & 1901 census would they kindly keep a look out for GEORGE THOMAS PASSMORE (born Southampton 1860) and his family, we are not sure if they were still at SOUTHAMPTON. Thank you for your time. Regards, Syd
Hi Judy, there was two Kent families in Alton William the grocer and John my ancestor, I believe Williams 3rd wife was called Andrew, or perhaps his daughter married into the Andrew family, can't find my notes at the moment, anyway I am still trying to find a relationship between the 2 Kent families in Alton, my John was born in Bentley and I have been able to trace this line to the Eggar/Lutman families of Bentley back to 1543. I know one of John's ancestor's possibly a Spencer married a Pink, will look for the information when I get a bit more time. Hello List My relative James Herrish Allen died at "The Thatched Cottage", Barton on Sea, in 1985. The informant was his nephew Reginald David Ballard. I have not been able to discover in what way they were uncle and nephew, although I have been able to find a living relative of Reginald Ballard - who also does not know! Would any of you have perhaps been visiting relatives at The Thatched Cottage in the 1980s and met James Allen? He was originally from Bedminster so died a long way from his birthplace. I assume he had no family nearby as the informant was a nephew by marriage as far as I can work out, because Reginald Ballard's mother was a Jackson thus not a sister to James Allen. So I assume that James Allen married a Jackson or a Ballard, I am trying to find the marriage. Thanks Bev
OOPS.. a little confusion maybe my fault originally. I mentioned the Kent Mathews meaning the mathews from Bekenham, Kent! Sorry but the Andrew connection may still be right on! Very late here in CA so must sign off! Hello List Has anyone a Reginald David BALLARD? In 1985 he was the informant to death of my relative James Herrish ALLEN, in Barton on Sea. Reginald was given as James' nephew. James Allen was born in Bedminster, Somerset in 1894. I would be very interested in finding out how he ended up in Hampshire, I know nothing whatsoever about him beyond his birth, cannot find the family in 1901. As the informant at his death was a nephew, I wondered if he never married and this nephew was a son of a married sister? I know there was a Reginald BALLARD registered in Poole district in 1916, this would certainly fit as to date of birth, but his mother was a Jackson, so not a sister to James Allen. Of course she could have been a sister to James' wife if he did marry, making Reginald his nephew by marriage. As Reginald was clearly alive in the recent past I am hoping my enquiry may bear fruit!! Thanks Bev
