It's my first time on this particular list and I thought that I would post my surname interests in the area. In 1819 William WHILEY married Diana JANES at Alverstoke where they had at least two sons. They were born & baptised Henry WILEY 1820 abode EWER Common and William WILEY 1822. William and Diana also had a daughter Jane WHILEY baptised at Portsmouth in 1827 abode Barracks. I can find no others for them in between those years, although it's possible that with William (sen) being a Royal Marine Gunner, he was abroad during that time. I know they were on the Ascension Isles before/around 1840 as another son was born there and Jane married James Parfitt there at age 13-14. I have quite a bit of information on the Parfitts but not so much on the Whiley/Wiley's. An Elizabeth WHILEY also married Ascension Isles and she married a Charles TENNANT. I would love to know where the Tennants came from originally and prove that Elizabeth was another daughter born to William and Diana. If anyone is checking records for BMD and comes across the above names I would be grateful for the extra help and very much appreciate them taking the time. Likewise if I can help anyone who is also researching the above family names please contact me. Kindest regards, Pat B
