Hi back on the trail again has anyone got the 1841/51 Census that could look up the HUIT family for me. Ann HUIT married Thomas HOLLIS 1842 in Portsea and the Father on marriage Certificate was William HUIT (Boatswain RN). A witness was a Mary HUIT. The nearest I have found is William NEWELL in 1871 Portsea Census with wife Mary b North America. He is listed as occ Gunner RN. I don't know how much difference a Boatswain is to Gunner do you. Hoping to find this family in Hampshire. Regards Bob Newell
