Hello Linda and Tony I've been looking for Ann Howard ROBINS (born October 1801) who was living at the Station House, Stokes Bay in the 1841 Census, aged 35 (in reality 40!). She appears to have been living with her married sister and brother-in-law, Jessy and Robert SYNGE (RN). As Jessy died in 1843, it is unlikely that Ann remained living there after that date. Mary Elise ROBINS (born November 1813) was living in Stoke Terrace, Alverstoke, aged 20 (she should have been listed as 25 as she was in fact 27). It is possible that either or both may have married. So far I haven't been able to locate a marriage for either. I THINK someone checked the 1851 Census for me but drew a blank. Is there an 1851 Census Index for any of the parishes round Alverstoke? By the way, I do have their birth dates as they were born in St Peter Port in Guernsey where the PRs list both birth and baptism dates. As I know these two were alive in 1841, could you check for the 5 years following that please? I'm trying to think of other ways of ascertaining there whereabouts etc, but so far all is blank! Many thanks.
