Can someone help me regain my sanity. I applied for a certificate with a Ref Sep 1894 District Bridgewater County Somerset Vol 5c page 577 for a marriage of Walter James Catchpole which I took from Ancestry.com. they have now come back and said that this reference is invalid for that name and charged me £3 for looking at it. Is this right when clearly the reference is right as it is on the database. What do I do. has anyone else had this problem. Annoyed Bob

Hi bob That matches up with the index on Free BMD as well. That's very odd. I've not had this problem, but I did have a problem where I had the wrong surname for the child, I gave them mother's details, sadly her surname was different to what I expected and they charged me for that search. then 2 days later the correct entry turned up on Free BMD. Nothing like your situation though. try contacting them and say you've double checked the index from more than one source and the they appear to be correct, and see what they say.
