Dear List, Family legend has it that Henry Jessup was Head Boy of Portsmouth Grammar School round about 1910/15. The archivist of the school can find no record of the fact. I am not quite convinced. However there is another alternative and that is Gosport Grammar School. Can anyone tell me where I can find records of both Portsmouth and Gosport Grammar Schools for this period. Any help would be most appreciated. Thank you, Margaret Jessup.
Don't forget there were also Portsmouth South [Fawcett Road] and Portsmouth Northern [Mayfield Road] Grammar Schools.
