Hello all listers We have recently been getting quite a few enquiries regarding burials in Alverstoke and Gosport and one of the questions has been where would X be buried. To answer the question we woud say this as this might help those who don't know or are uncertain. Firstly, St Mary's Alverstoke and Holy Trinity churchyard burials took place from the 1500's through to( in some cases) the 1970's. In addition there was the church in Elson St Thomas (Hardway to some on other documents such as census ) 1846-1927 was when the burials took place here. Also Forton St John burials were 1841-1879. Then there is the Municipal cemetery at Anns Hill where Alverstoke/Gosport burials took place from 1855 right through to the present day. We have fully transcribed the burials for Alverstoke 1714-1975 and these are available OFFLINE if you e-mail us. In addition Elson St Thomas is available ONLINE at our website www.knightroots.co.uk under parish registers and by clicking on G for Gosport 1846-1900 all the full details are there. Some of Forton St John are also ONLINE at our webiste but not all. In addition we have fully transcribed Anns Hill cemetery 1855-1953 and these are available OFFLINE (there are some 35,000+ entries here). We are more than happy to helps where we can and also for other areas where we have the fiche so please feel free to ask anytime but please no blanket searches as this would be too big a task. Please be as specific as possible re name/s and date/s or sorry but a non starter because of the number of churches. Take care,Linda and Tony
