Hi Edna and All, My nurse child was with grandparents...I presume so because my GGgranny was already too old to have children but not too old to look after one. I have not found out what happened to the parents. The granny was Matilda Saunders in case someone out there might recognize her. Louise Banff, Canada Hi, Perhaps the woman could not nurse her baby so a child nurse was used. The other woman would already be nursing her own baby and would take on another for a fee.
