I've been searching for family gravestones in the cemetery from around 1881 to 1949 and although I have the full plot details from the Portsmouth Records Office, I've not been able to find any headstones (except for a CWGC one). Were headstones only kept for a certain numbers of years ?

My grandparents' headstone has been there since 1904 and another close relative was buried in 1923 with a headstone still surviving. I have visited both of them in recent years. Why Portsmouth Records Office? Burial records can be checked at the Milton Cemetery office. Regards Ken Grubb, Cheltenham, Glos.
