    3. I am new to this list. I am looking for information about Henry READ of Portsea, shipwright, my gr gr gr gr grandfather. In a 1794 Marriage Licence Allegation, Henry READ gave his consent for his daughter Elizabeth READ of Portsea (born abt 1775 or 1774), a minor, to marry Joseph GRIGG, baker, of Alverstoke aged 21. Elizabeth READ was my gr gr gr grandmother and Joseph GRIGG was my gr gr gr grandfather. In 1841 census Joseph and Elizabeth GRIGG were operating confectionery shop in High Street Gosport. In 1851 census, Elizabeth was a widow aged 77 still operating pastrycook and confectionery shop at 54 High St, Gosport. The shop continued until after 1870 - does anyone have a photo? I am wondering if this is the same Henry READ, of Portsea, shipwright who made a will dated 1816 listed in Hampshire Record Office? I am hoping someone might have access to a burial record which would give his age? I'd greatly appreciate any information.
