My genealogical Christmas Wish would be to discover more about my "early Pauls." At the top of my tree at the moment is John Paul from New Alresford, who was a Sawyer and died in 1767. His wife was named Elizabeth. For the next generation I have John Paul of New Alresford, born in 1707 and died in 1770. His wife was Susannah who died in 1765. I'd love to know more about their wives and whether they had any siblings and it would be great to get back another generation or two. My other wish is to discover anything about the mysterious Tryphosa Allbury. She apparently married James Paul (son of John Paul jnr above) in 1771. She is variously recorded as Rafosa or Raforia. As far as I know, she was the mother of his children, but James married a second time, to a widow named Ann Thatcher. -- Jenny M Benson
