HI listers i am researching my --Allen family from Portsea, and have done very well until I reached 1763, when my g/g/g/grandfather Robert Allen was born. I and am trying to locate his parents. >From other sources I know his Father was Joseph Allen from Portsea, but when i applied to both Winchester and Portsmouth Records for baptisimal records I was issued with copies to two Robert and two Joseph Allensand a third with Anthony Allen. I know Roberts Father was A Joseph A llenand he worked in Portsmouth Dockyard, as did many other members of the family, and there is a placque on St Georges Church with his name on it as a founder member.
