The 1861 census shows my grt grandmother Mary Ann Turner living with her parents John and Elizabeth Turner in Sandpit cottage, Forest Side, LISS. Does anyone with a local knowledge of the area around Liss know where exactly this could be. i see that there is an area described as Liss Forest. I will be travelling past Liss on the A3 soon and wondered if it would be worth a detour to look for it? Any help appreciated. Thanks Shirley (Cambridge)
