Hi Jon, Nice to hear of your success. I am still looking for the date of birth for my William Dowse who became a Carpenter RN and as far as I can ascertain would have been born about 1800. I wonder if he was the son of William DOWSE the Master at Arms of HMS Bellerophon which took part in the Battl;e of Trafalgar. This William was born in London about 1764.
