Hi everyone, Very many thanks to a very kind lister on one of Rootsweb's Hampshire lists who directed me to Ancestry's 1891 Scottish census, and Edward Paterson b1891 Greenock, Renfrewshire. He was the son of Alexander and Mary, Mary's maiden name appears to have been Bucklitsch (evidently the 2nd forename of Edward Paterson that caused some problem reading it on his marriage cert to Florence Kate Albery at St John's Forton, Gosport on Oct 9, 1915). I'm still a little held up on the Paterson family, the 1881 census would have helped enormously I think, but I now have the Bucklitsch family right back to the turn of the 19th century in Aberdeenshire.
