My interest is John Willoughby WATT, said he was born in Portsmouth 1789. Next found in Pt Jackson, NSW, in 1804 aged 14, signing on as Boy 2nd Class on the Calcutta. Captured on board Calcutta by the French Oct 1805, spent next 8½ yrs. in prison in France. Appointed Lieutenant August 1818, went immediately onto halfpay. Moved to Allemagne, now called Fleury-sur-Orne (nr Caen), in France and lived there until his death Oct 1842. During that time he married in London, and 2 daughters born in France. Seeking information on his birth, parents and whereabouts from 1789 to 1804. Thanks for the opportunity to post our interests, Di
