Of the nine children of William WILLCOCKS b. 15 Dec 1802 and Elizabeth Young b. 6 Feb 1804, who marreid 1 Jan 1825 at St. Mary's Portsea, I have some if not all descendants of four of the five sons. The family comprised: 1. William Robert WILLCOCKS b. 11 Dec 1825 - this line researched down to living relatives 2. George William WILLCOCKS b. Dec 18276, bu.27 Nov 1827, St. Mary's Portsea 3. Henry John WILLCOCKS b. 16 Mar 1828 - also researched down to living relatives (my ggf) 4. Elizabeth Ann WILLCOCKS (1) b. 14 Aug 1830, probably d. bef. 3Q1837 as no records of death found, but see 9 below. 5. Samuel WILLCOCKS b. 1 Jul 1832 d. after age 73 in 1905 (laid a wreath at Trafalgar Square on 21 Oct 1905) - most lines known into 20th century but not Frederick E WILLCOCKS . 1859 Sheerness, Kent. 6. Martha WILLCOCKS b. 6 Nov 1835, believed to have died before 1837 death records started, not found in 1851 census 7. Thomas WILLCOCKS b. 3Q1838 m. Henrietta Jane WOODEN 3Q1857 Portsea, one line known down to a living cousin. 8. Mary WILLCOCKS b. 3Q1840, in 1851 census age 10 - no descendants or marriage found 9. Elizabeth Ann WILLCOCKS (2) b. 2Q1843, in 1851 census age 7 (hence not the Elizabeth Ann b. 1830) Conclusion that Elizabeth Ann (1) and Martha died is based on birth of second child with exactly the same name, which would point to a death before 1843, but no deaths of Elizabeth Ann found in BMDs between 1837 and 1843 suggests she was younger when she died. The 1841 census HO107/413/1/p20/F32 shows William (father) 38, Blacksmith, Elizabeth (mother) 40, William (son), 15, Henry 13, Thomas 3, Mary 10m, and Ann Young 70, at Nile St., Portsea (in the dockyard area.) No sign of Elizabeth Ann who should be 10, Samuel, 8, or Martha, 5. Samuel was in Conway Row, with grandparents Robert & Mary, and aunt Elizabeth, but the missing two daughters could have died before 1841 census and before death records in 1837 as mentioned above. Any clues welcome! The Young family is shown on the previous page on the same image. Any descendants of the above family are also requested to contact me.
