    2. Just to remind everybody that the expression 'last ship HMS Victory' does not necessarily mean he was serving on Nelson's Flagship. This was the name given to the new Naval Barracks in Queen Street (opened in Sept 1903) that was renamed HMS Nelson in the early 70's to avoid confusion with HMS Victory (Ship). They were the final Admin HQ for men discharged from the RN at the end of their engagement or going to pension or as in this case DD (discharged dead). Mike Waterlooville
