Hello, I was wondering would anyone be able to tell me if there would have been any schools near 209, Albert Rd, in 1891. I am trying to found out how long my Great Grandad would have been in Portsmouth before returning to the IOW in 1892. Regards, Kliff Snow

There are two possible schools, both of which I went to. there was Albert road School which was on the corner of Albert road and Napier Road and Highland Road School which was at the start of Highland road and the end of Albert and on the corner of St Ronans road. They may of course been named something else then but I would think they would have been around in 1891. What by the way was 209 Albert road as it could probably be the Tesco shop now.
