Hi Shay. Could it have been Army Service Corp ? Prior to becoming Royal Army Service Corps. I believe they have changed the name again. Before the 20th century I think they may have known as Army Commissariat . With kind regards, Seamus. It is now known as the Royal Logistics Corps. It has had a number of names throughout its over 200 year history: Royal Wagoners - Royal Wagon Corps - Royal Wagon Train - Land Transport Corps -Military Train and then in 1870 Army Service Corps, officered by members of the Commissariat, who were previously uniformed civilians.. The Army Service Corps became the Royal Army Service Corps in 1918. In 1965 the transport elements of the Corps and the Royal Engineers formed the Royal Corps of Transport and in 1993 that Corps amalgamated with the RAOC, the RPC, the ACC and the RE Postal and Courier Services to form the Royal Logistics Corps David ----- Original Message ----- From: "Timber" <894driftwood32@iinet.net.au> To: <eng-ham-portsmouth-gosport@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, August 23, 2008 7:41 AM Subject: Re: [PORTSMOUTH-GOSPORT] Driver ASC > Hi Shay.
