Have you thought of looking on the Isle of Wight, there were a lot of Hayles living there, some even came to Portsmouth to marry as St. Mary's Portsea was the mother church. Goog luck. Hello June, Thanks for your suggestion to search the Isle of Wight area to try and locate Charles Hayles. This certainly is an excellent idea - unfortunately, I also need to find his Date of Birth, otherwise I can never be sure if I have the correct person. Many thanks for your interest and I'm hoping that somebody else will also have some ideas or supply the Church in the Landport area where Charles lived. Again, your help is appreciated. Joyce
