Hello Shirley, I don't know if anyone has replied to this but I think the cottages are still there and should be visible using Google Earth in the area of the railway triangle, Port Creek at Highbury, Cosham. In those days Wymering was bigger and more important than Cosham? Regards Peter > My grt grt grandfather Arthur GEORGE and his family lived during the 1850's at the S E Line Cottages at Port Creek Junction Wymering. Can anyone tell me exactly where they would have been? I suppose it is too much to expect them to be still there?!! He was a railway labourer then but later moved back to Havant where he was born and was then a sawyer. > Thanks > Shirley McHutchison
Thanks to David, Kate and Peter for more information on my Port Creek Cottages query. It would be good to confirm if they were the actual ones my ancestors lived in or possibly helped build . They were definitely living there between 1850 and 1858. Their children were baptised at Wymering parish church and sadly two of them died when living there.
