Hello Brian. May I enlist your help again, please. I have the report from the Suffolk, UK newspaper that James JOSELYN/JOSLIN/JOSSELYN (whatever) was on the Leviathan in 1838. I was given a convict number - 1761 - which I passed on to a VKS on list, who was looking for further info on his whereabouts. She told me that each person is given a number for a particular hulk and that particular number was for the Hull hulk, and James would have had another number for the Leviathan. Being a bit "thick" it has only just dawned on me that the HULL would be a ship. I realise I must go back to anther website to ascertain where the HULL was between 1838 and 1844, but in the meantime, if you do have access to the 1841C for Portsmouth could you easily tell if the HULL is on the 1841C - when you have the time. Thank you so much.
