Hi Listers I've just subscribed - not because I have any Forest of Dean family because I havent. My family are All from the north of England but I live in the Forest and am at the point when I need to leave my PC and get out into the real world to check records which are not available on my PC / online. I just checked for my nearest LDS centre and to my surprise found one in Coleford - where I live. Is this correct : Forest of Dean England Wynols Hill Queensway Colesford, COLESFORD Phone: Gloucestershire Hours: GLOUCESTERSHIRE Closed: England Attention: ENGLAND If so could someone tell me the arrangements given that I've never visited an LDS centre before. What are the opening times, do I need to book etc etc. Also where else reasonably locally can I get access to Birth, Marriage, Death indexes. I have found 'Gloucestershire Family History Society Resource Centre' which appears to be open 10-4 (minus lunch) Tuesday - Thursday - is this correct ? Is there anywhere else I should try - given that I am not looking for any local records only those for Lancashire, Cumberland, Yorkshire and Scotland. Any help on this would be much appreciated. Regards Joy

I believe that these are available at Cinderford Library, in Bellevue Road, next door to the local registrar. =============================== David Steel <[email protected]> Adelaide, South Australia keeper of the Gloucestershire Surnames List at <http://www.tpg.com.au/users/dsteel/glsnames.htm> =================================================
