Hi all Is there anyone here researching FROWEN from Brockweir? My GGGfather John Wesley FROWEN was born in Hewelsfield c. 1815 to a (H)ester FROWEN. She had a few children but baptised a lot of them at the same time (1822). I think she was the Esther Frowen bap. 15 April 1787 in English Bicknor. The children called themselves FROWEN and/or PUGH on various certificates/censuses. I found a will of a JOHN PUGH, a waterman of Hewelsfield who died in 1825 and left all his lands and house to Hester FROWEN as long as she remains unmarried and, if she did, it all goes to the children. I can find no trace of Hester after this will and I wondered if anyone here has already researched this part of the family or knows anything of what lands and house (in Brockweir, St Briavels & Hewelsfield) he left. There is no tithe map of that time (so they said) and it was not identified in the will. Any help would be greatly appreciated - been stuck for a year now. Happy new year Alan Pugh ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ alan pugh -- [email protected] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
