Hi, What sort of activities would our Ancestors get up to at Christmas time around the Forest of Dean? Did they have any unusual festive events or was it just a case of fasten down the hatches for wintery weather? My clan lived around Lydney in the 1900s but I suspect it was the true forest folk who had the more traditional celebrations. Any insights most welcome (being a Northern suburban dweller, my knowledge is limited on such matters). A very Merry Christmas to All and a Great 2005 for solving those gaps in your Ancestral treks.
