Hi all and Merry Christmas and many thanks for all the help everyone this year.. Over the last few days I have heard from many family historians from Australia, New Zealand and South Africa which brought up a thought, perhaps I should post my wife's interest in her "MADGEN" ancestry. The family seems to have lived in St Johns Chapel in Durham UK but many left and went to Australia, New Zealand and particularly South Africa in search of fortunes in Gold Mining. If any of you looking in have found any Madgen's in your part of the world we would really appreciate the heads up please.. Not many left now. We just found the name Robson Madgen who moved to Alberta Canada after being in Africa doing mining, so have sent off to try connect with those ancestors, hopefully soon..
