Hi List, I am researching JOHN WILLIAM SHAW b. Sept. 1891(we think). According to his Navy entrance papers he was an orphan and his guardian was LAURA ANNIE ROBINSON. I would be so appreciative if some kind person could look up the 1901 census for your area and see if Laura is there anywhere and if she had John and his brother Victor in the household. I am really flying blind on this so sorry I cannot give anymore info. except that his father was also John Shaw. JOHN WILLIAM SHAW married WINIFRED BROWN in Dec. 1914 in Coleford, hence I am looking in this area. Many thanks to all. Val.
