One of my ancestors - William Lancey BLACKMORE - gave his birthplace (in the 1881 census) as the Forest of Dean. This interesting as the IGI places his christening in Worcester in 1848. William was a furnace-man by trade - his father was John Lancey Blackmore, his mother was Diana. If anyone can shed any light on this matter, or point me in the right direction I'd be very grateful.
