Richard Meek was born around 1824 at East Dean. He married Hannah. They had eight children, John, b. 1849; Richard, b. 1851; Thomas, b. 1853; Alfred, b. 1856; Enos, b. 1857; John, b. 1859; Simeon, b. 1866; and Albert b. 1871. Richard died before 1881. John Meek was born in 1859 at East Dean. He married Jane Meek (born 1860) at the Church of Holy Trinity, Forest of Dean on 25 Dec 1884. They had seven children, Harold,b . 1886; Frederick, b. 1888; Arthur, b. 1889; Herbert Giles, b. 1892; Bertram John, b. 1894; Henrietta, b. 1896 and Arthur b. 1802. John died on 24 January 1904 at Forest of Dean, Bertram John was born 22 February 1894 at Morse Road, East Dean. He married Annie Mona Knilands in 1923 after he's moved to Newcastle upon Tyne.
