James Payne(cordwainer) (b. about 1792 Awre,) his son William Payne (shoemaker) Flaxley, Newland (b. 1819 Awre) his sons Henry Payne (shoemaker and rural postman) west Dean , Bream,(b.1851) Newland James Payne (shoe and bootmaker) west Dean , Lydney(b.1852 Newland) Henrys son William Payne (shoemaker) (b.1875 Newland) I would be very grateful for any information (pictures , articles) on shoemaking in general in the Forest in the 19th century.
