    3. Following information from 1881 and 1891 census and 2 birth certs I have the following Family so far seems to be name born / place 1891 / 1881 Shadrach Jenkins 1832 Lidney / Bream Sarah Jenkins (neeDavies) 1827 Lidney / Bream Woodside John Jenkins 1857 ? / Bream cert 8th March 1857 reg Coleford William Jenkins 1868 Lidney / ? Sarah Hannah Jenkins 1870 Lidney / Bream Woodside cert 30th May1870 reg Coleford John may well be the oldest but I am sure there must be more children. I can't find anything on IGI (Shadrach is proving elusive). They were living at West Dean in 1870 when Sarah was born. Using the 1851 Glo census for West Dean online I did find 13 DAVIS William 75 Wood Collier Kemple/Remple? Mary 63 Newent Sarah 24 Dressmaker West Dean Caroline Grand daughter 7 West Dean 14 BALDWIN Frances Widow/er 51 Woolaston Caroline 17 West Dean John 12 Coal Miner West Dean FREEMAN Samuel Lodger 23 Coal Miner West Dean JENKINS Lodger 2- Coal Miner Newland 47 JENKINS Maria Widow/er 55 West Dean Mesach ? 12 Coal Miner West Dean Alice 11 West Dean I am working on the theory that this is my Shadrach (lodger) aged 20 living next door to his future wife with his mother and brother Mesach (name fits!) living a few houses away. I remember seeing on a mining history web site that a Meshach Jenkins died aged 18. Can anyone add any details to this or come up with helpful suggestions for further searches on line? In particular it would help to see the family on 1861 or 1871 census as I know they were at Bream, West Dean then for both John and Sarah's births. (They have emigrated to Staffordshire by 1891) Many thanks in anticipation Janet Howell
