    3. Hello You make FoD sound a haven, as I am sure it is! I am looking forward to visiting even more now. One of the joys of genealogy is finding out about life and culture of both the times and the area - I find it fascinating and it helps imagine how life was for my ancestors and almost "brings them to life" again. I am sending off for a report on the working conditions in Gloucestershire mines as so many of my ancestors were miners. It was mining that caused them to migrate to the Potteries for work. Thanks for all the other information, it will keep me busy for a while exploring it all. Again the generosity of this list to beginners like me is amazing. Thank you all!
