Hi Hazel and listers Many thanks for the info on the people who had The Heywood Inn. For your info,(although you probably know already!) William Critchley was the son in law of John Preddy,they were both living at the pub in 1881. But the previous owner George Rudge, is particularly fascinating for me.I have a George Rudge who was distantly related (Something like a great uncle in law,if that's possible!) to John Preddy and William Critchley.He was born in East Dean and was still living there in 1851. His son, another George Rudge was a miner in Normanton,Yorks in 1881(with another son George!) So it's possible that either of these Georges are the one who was landlord from 1869 to 1878.
