Like Clare, I have also been unable to find an ancestor on the 1901 census. My wife's grandfather William John BAKER was born in November 1898, but despite many attempts, using every variation of his name that I could think of, I cannot find him (he would have been aged 2). His parents and siblings are listed, but not William. All his documents (birth, marriage and death) confirm the date of his birth. Could he have been forgotten? Or maybe registered with another family, and given the wrong surname? Any thoughts would be much appreciated.
