Greetings to all list members. I am new to this list and am not familiar with your area as I do not live in the UK. I have located my g g g grandfather James BATES on the 1851 census. It says born in Forest of Dean, Dark Hill in 1823. Could someone tell me if Dark Hill is a place? Any suggestions on how to learn any more about his family? TIA Marlene Ontario, Canada
