G'day from Canberra, Australia. Apologies to those of you who may have recieved this via another list. I am new to this list and so am registering my interest in LIMBRICK family history. Main interest at the moment is attempting to achieve progress in two areas: Thomas LIMBRICK and Sarah COOK - can't find a marriage record. There are lots of Thomas LIMBRICKs in IGI but lack of info makes a fix impossible. Do know that they had at least one son Richard LIMBRICK born Gloucestershire c. 1821. Richard emigrated to colony of Victoria with his wife Ellen WALL (b. c. 1824). They had the following children with them when they emigrated: -Charles Henry (b c. 1842); -George (also known as James - b c. 1843, Rangeworthy); -Mary (b c. 1847); -Hannah Harriet (b c. 1849); -Eliza (b c. 1851). [the 5 children were Gloucestershire born, with a place being given only for George). I have had no luck in locating any of the above three generations of LIMBRICKs except in Australian records. Also interested in Thomas, John and Richard LIMBRICK convicted of burglary in 1836 (Glos Lent Assizes 22 March 1836). Death sentence commuted to transportation. Thomas was 26, John 29 and Richard 31 at date of commutation of death sentence. Address of three given as Wickwar. I think from IGI that they were children of John and Elizabeth LIMBRICK and were christened: Richard (16 May 1804 Thornbury), John (24 Sept 1806 Thornbury) and Thomas (4 Feb 1810 Cromhall). Dont have access to Glos Assize records so cant check back for other details from those records. The three were sent to hulk (Ganymede) where Thomas died in 1836 and the other two were transported Sept 1836 to Van Diemnen's Land. Comments, help or suggestions much appreciated.
