Dear Listers, I have posted this query on the Gloucestershire List, but thought there may be new subscribers who can help. The three Scudamore sisters, Sarah, Hannah and Mary were the daughters of John Scudamore (Skidmore) and his wife, Elizabeth of Mitcheldean and Abenhall. Sarah b. 1771 married William MAYO at Mitcheldean in 1788. I am particularly searching for information on William Mayo, details of birth, parents etc. I only know that on his marriage entry he was ³a yeoman of Mitcheldean². They were my ggg grandparents. Hannah Scudamore, b. 1765 married Joseph YOUNG at English Bicknor in 1786. Mary Scudamore, b.1760 married Thomas HARRIS, at Mitcheldean in 1789. All three girls were christened at Abinghall. Dear Patricia, I was interested to see the names Scudamore and Mayo: they have come up in recent research on my husban'd mother's family, PRICE. On the LDS site I found a Sarah MAYO b 3 Dec 1694 in Hartpury, Glcs, married a John BUDDEN also from Hartpury, in St Nicholas Glcs on 7 Apr 1718. They were the grandparents of a Price from our line. So perhaps you should be looking in Hartpury. The parents and gparents of Sarah came from Tirley in Glcs. Try looking on the LDS, there may be something there for you more recent than these, so you can make the connection.
