    3. In about October 1999 the Forester published a report of the death in Lydney of a 93 year old lady named Wintle who had no living relatives. She left all her not inconsiderable estate to two charities and for this she received the publicity. But it is the "No known relatives" that interests me for I have a friend who has a large Wintle tree and would love to be able to place this person. Does anyone have a copy of the press report or is anyone able to let me know how one may be obtained please? I'll be grateful for any thoughts, help or suggestions. John

    3. I'm rapidly losing my hair because of this man who was my ggf. and any help, thoughts or suggestions would be manna from heaven. Edwin EYLES was bapt. at Brimpsfield 24.12.1825 to Richard ILES and Patience nee BLANDFORD. I believe that he died sometime before 1893. In August 1853 he was in Littledean Jail convicted of assault. His prison records show that at that time he was living in Alvington with a wife and 4 children. I have been unable to find the marriage or the births of the children, or to find them on the 1851 census. In 1866 he had a son Henry - either by his first wife or possibly by his second wife Emma nee BUTT sometimes known as BUCK and occasionally even VIZARD (!!) He married Emma on 22.10.1868 at Parkend and she was born at East Dean around 1846. The three of them and another baby are shown to be living at Allastone Meend on the 1871 census. If anyone can help with any information regarding his first marriage and the children I will be extremely grateful. John

    3. Hello listers, I have a Mary Coleman born in Longhope ca 1845 and am trying to get her birth cert. The Glcs Register Office could not find her, though they searched diligently from 1842 and 1848, which I think was really good of them. I checked on the BMD indexes yesterday at the family record centre, and found a whole lotof Coleman births incuding a Mary at the right time, but born in Westbury-on-Severn. Could this feasibly be my Mary? I saw no reference to Longhope in the entire register search for Colemans. thans, Flo Flo Montgomery Surrey UK [email protected] researching: MONTGOMERY in Bristol and Ireland CHAMPION in Bristol and Somerset PRICE, BAKER, COLEMAN, CRISPIN in the south west BURKS in Crewe, Cheshire; Staffs and Warwickshire BARON, BARTLETT, HUGHES, in Blackburn and Gt Harwood CALLADINE, JERVIS, DENT in Staffs and Derby

    3. I would appreciate it if someone with access to the 1871 Census for Lydney or for Newland, one of which hopefully covers Breames Eaves and/or Blisters in the Forest of Dean, could do a "look up" for me. I am hoping to find out where in HEF Thomas (head of family) was born. The family in 1871 would have been: HIGGINS, Thomas (in his 40's) born HEF (according to 1881 Census) Mary Ann, 30, born Purton, GLS Thomas, 5, born Whitecroft, GLS Mary, 2, born Blisters, GLS William, baby, born Breames Eaves I would also be interested to hear if anyone has seen this family in the 1891 Census with the additional children and possibly more than listed as I have a gap of 6 years between William and Albert: Albert, born Woodside Bream about 1877 Kate, born Woodside Bream about 1880 Charles, born Little Dean in 1882 (my grandfather) I have heard that there was an Andrew and an Aubrey but I have not been able to locate these two at all.
