    1. [FoD] THAMES surname
    2. Tony and Julie Howell
    3. good morning - i am researching my father's surname, THAMES. we think that the progenitor of the THAMES family in the US may have been a William THAMES, who came to America in about 1666, and lived in Maryland. he is said to have shipped some "goods" from England on several occasions on a ship called the "Bristol Factor." it is thought that he might have been a Quaker, but this has not yet been proved. William is thought to have had at least 3 children, sons John, Joseph and Thomas. the IGI records and a few other sources indicates that there were THAMESes in/around Cheshire, Oxfordshire, Somerset, Surrey and Kent. does anyone have any information on the THAMES family in England? i sure would appreciate any help on this search. I have looked at East Dean which will explain why I was having no luck. The fiche in the Oxford centre have a place index for the 1901 census , but neither of the above are named in it. Pearl I would be very interested in the BROOKS entries, many thanks. Anne-Marie

    1. [FoD] WOOLES/MOORE FAMILES OF NEWNHAM AND ARLINGHAM
    2. Mary Newland
    3. My direct ancestor was JOSEPH WOOLES born in approx 1821 (have not found the baptism) who married HESTER MOORE of Arlingham (daughter of WILLIAM MOORE) on 10.4.1842 at Newnham. The marriage only lasted about three years as Hester sadly died on 26.1.1845 aged 21. She left two daughters Mary Wooles bap.6.7.1842 and Emma 23.6.1844. Joseph later married SARAH MERRY also from Arlingham and went on to have a large family. I would appreciate any info about these families or any help on the WOOLES family in general - I believe some Wooles lived at Westbury on Severn as I have a number of early wills. 1. [FoD] Yorkley Primary School and some RUCK/RICHARDS Trivia
    2. Ian Coghlan
    3. Dear listers 1. I am assisting with the development of the Yorkley Primary School website and wondering if anyone has any photo's of the school in former times that we could put on the website. Anything is of interest as the school is also looking to producing an exhibition to celebrate its centenary which comes up in the next 3 years, a period that is not too long in academic terms! If you have scanned in photo's that is great, I can also scan in originals. So if you want to, email me off group and we can arrange something. 2. A friend of mine is married to the Grand Niece of Ivy RUCK nee RICHARDS, who has long departed this world. What is of interest is that Ivy left the forest, travelled from the east to the west coast of America in a covered wagon and then came back again to the forest! The RUCKs lived in Oldcroft where there are still a number to be found. They have a strong connection with the Viney St Swithams sports club. PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL for more details, I don't have them and my friend and his wife are not in a position to provide any more details at the moment. If and when I find out anymore about this adventurous woman I will post them. Regards Ian Coghlan Pillowell Glos (Repeated on the Gloucestershire Rootsweb)
