Morning All from a beautifully sunny Bristol. We have a number of new members this week whcih brings our happy band to over 40. As usual with lists of this type most are happy to sit on the sidelines and watch the world go by. It is important for all members to post their interests from time to time so that other listers can help them. We have already united families through this list and I am positive that we can unite more or just answer those nagging questions that you may have. One lister was united this week with living rellies in Bristol. I don't fancy her phone bill next month. Next weekend I will be away on holiday - 4 days on a narrowboat (canalboat) around Worcester so I will have to trust you to behave yourselves. The weekend after is GFHS fair where the intention is to get the fiche reader and more fiches to add to my collection. So just in case the info is available at the GFHS fair you better get posting your Hawkesbury queries. On my return lookups will be available on the 1891 census the 1813 - 1884 burial register and other things. I have the 1841 for Hawkesbury as well but it is largely unreadable so rather than do look ups on that I will post info from time to time. Other fiches will be added as finances allow. I am minded to purchase some of the Wiltshire fiches first and the burial registers of surrounding villages mainly due to the large numbers of missing Hawkesbury families. Thanks to Gordon Beavington's work on the 1851 for Somerset another THOMPSON stray has been located and traced forward to Bristol in 1881. That's about it for now. I have not forgotten any of your queries. Some take longer than others. Is anybody good at transcribing old documents ?? Would you like to have a go at some of mine if I snail mail you copies. ??
