Geoff, Speaking of Pond Dipping - did I ever mention to you that Jane HALE, wife of Thomas VAISEY of Cam, is reputed to be descended from Sir Matthew HALE, last Lord Chief Justice of England to have a witch burnt at the stake? I cannot find the connection, although family members of the VAISEY family apparently visited the estate during WWI and were accepted as distant family members. I don't know if I am descended, but if I am, this little witch sure is the family revenge on him. I reckon I would survive a pond dipping anywhere. Linda Briagolong, Australia.
