Dear Geoffro, Thanks for your effort anyway. I had a few military biffs and a retired British soldier take a stab at them. Most of the responses agreed with one another on which battallion my Wicks guys were in so at least I have a start on them. By any chance, do you know anyone that may be living near Tormarton or Sopworth and might be willing to write some info from the gravestones there. Excerpts from a library book sent to me by a Wicks relative in Birmingham have Wicks in the graveyard at Tormarton but it only gives years of death so I cannot ascertain who is who with any surety. Also, thankyou for letting me know about the Wicks in the GRO/PRO data posted to the website. My Birmingham Wicks relative has followed his line back to that Bartholomew Wicks of Hillesley so, needless to say that he is somehow related to mine but I still have to iron out al the how's, etc. Thanks again, Ronda Wicks (Woodstock, Ontario, Canada)
