Dear Listers, I thought as I read Geoffro's message that there were over 1000 on the list now, I would put a few of my interests for everyone to see in the hope that someone out there is interested! Mostly in GREAT BADMINTON and HAWKESBURY the family of DAVIS. The earliest I have is ROBERT DAVIS married ELIZABETH LIMBRICK 1781, then JOB DAVIS married ANN ? they then moved to GREAT BADMINTON, where they worked for the DUKE of BEAUFORT as "Helpers in Stables, Pad Gooms, Grooms and Coachmen". On the 1881 census they were still in GREAT BADMINTON, but WILLIAM, JOB'S son was an annuitant and had married for the 2nd time to MARGARET ? from WICK, BERKELEY, his 1st wife being JA(Y)NE MARY WITTS, who had obviously died. WILLIAM AND JA(Y)NE 'S son WILLIAM JOB DAVIS moved up to BURTON-ON-TRENT at some time mid 1800's. Hope someone knows these names.Regards and best wishes to you all. Mavis Williams, Flintshire.
